Hand Made Walnut Ink

$8.00
sold out

Every year for almost 20 years I’ve watched (and heard) the black walnuts falling from my trees into my yard and later thought how deep and lovely the stains were after the squirrels had a feast in my driveway. Finally, I learned how to capture that gorgeous color by making ink during the Covid lockdowns. Several seasons later, I now have more ink than I could ever use and would love to share it with you. If you love the rich brown color walnut ink yields, try the ink made with black walnuts from my garden in South Eastern Pennsylvania.
I’ve tried different walnut inks and each carries it’s own differences in top tone and undertone. My ink is pretty true to color in the photos with a slightly golden undertone. This ink also mixes well with other water based inks-my favorite is to mix it with Sumi for an even darker, richer brown.
Each 2oz bottle includes a dropper for control when drawing, painting or when you just need a little…and a little goes a long way.
