✺ Frequently asked questions ✺
-
There are many ways to add line to encaustic, but nothing replicates drawing or a drawn line like horse hair.
Thread and yarn is spun fiber which when placed in encaustic can cause a blurred line, wire is difficult to control-nothing wrong with this if it’s what you like. Horse hair will give you a clean, drawn flowing line.
-
I sell it in my shop here! Or you can get it online by other distributers, you just have to buy bulk. If you have friends with horses, hit them up!
-
No! Horse hair comes in many colors from horse hair suppliers.
-
Not at all, everything you need will cost less than $50. The horse hair in my shop costs $12 for a substantial amount of product. You’ll also need an iron (link below to purchase at Amazon), encaustic medium and plain wax paper from the grocery store.
-
Everyone can draw! Horse hair has already done half the work for you with it’s gentle natural curve-all you have to do is follow it.
